OVH Mail server configuration not accepted

Hi Support!

I've been trying to configure the Email settings for a couple of hours without success. My config as stated by my email provider (OVH) is the next:

SMTP Server: ssl0.ovh.net

Port: 465

From: Whatever

User ID: myname%mydomain.com (Changing the "@" for "%" is required by OVH to access theirs servers)

Password: XXXXX

I'm using SSL or TLS without success testing neither saving. The output when trying both with the test button are:

c82b1f9664c61b8ec4ea2880816dd07b

¿Any idea?

BTW I tried the previous configuration with Gmail to send mails from my gmail account and it worked.

Thank you very much

Hi Jose Luis,

I see you added the settings in console and I verified that emails are

not sent. I created an internal ticket so this problem can be further

investigated.

Mark

Hi Mark,

15 minutes after sending the email requested, I tried again the same configuration that had failed several times before, and it worked. Well, it said "Test passed" or similar. So I thought that some modifications had been made.

After an hour or so and because your team is really diligent, I thought that some maybe you were doing some tests before going to production but I decided to save and wait for your answer.

I didn't realize no mails weren't been sending. I just tried now and I realized it doesn't. I have resetted because is better to receive an unbranded email that no one for the users in order to be able to register.

Thanks for the support,

Jose Luis

Hi Anton, Sergey

I have created 3 new apps in Backendless and when trying to use the 3 new emails associated with those apps. I receive again the same old errors.

I've tried these new email configurations of the new apps inside the app that you made work one month ago and they works. So the email configuration that I'm using is correct, but the problem persists with the new apps created. Does this make sense to you?

Please let us know the IDs of the applications. Also, send an email to support@backendless.com with the following information:

SMTP host name/port

SMTP login/password

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Info sent to support.

The app Ids as requested:

160284A5-E879-1C07-FFC2-00ED33A80000

E20DA22A-317B-A2E3-FFFF-06B15240C600

As far as I understand, it's the same problem than the first time, do you have to manually tune it?

As usual thanks for the fast response.

Quick question off topic. If I need a pro account the features and the plan limits apply by app? I mean, I may need a paid account for one app and maybe don't for others?

All plan limits are per app. Every app has its own billing.

That's convenient, :)

I would say is working properly now. I changed from postmaster%mydomain.com to "contacto%mydomain.com" that is the real account that I want my users to see and have tried the four apps and it works in all of them.
