Hi, in the functional limits, where is says 50 API calls/sec, is that calculated per second? Or is it calculated on a higher period? Obviously, the greater the period, the worse it gets in terms of scale and cost.

It is pro-rated on the minute basis. With 50 req/sec, you can make 3000 requests during any given minute. If you “use up” these 3000 requests say on the 46th second, all other requests after that will be rejected unless you purchase a function pack increasing the limit.
That’s sad. Per second would have been so much better 
In the ideal world there would be no limitations for the API req/sec, right?
