What is the cheapest way to create a messaging program?

I see in the Cloud Functional Limits that there is a limit of 1,000,000 push notifications and 1,000,000 pub/sub messages. I’m not asking for all of the necessary source code, I am just asking you to please point me in the correct direction of what I can build my messaging app around that is the most cost effective solution. I am referring strictly to the messaging, not any push notifications saying “hey, user, you got a message” outside of the app.

I appreciate your timeliness and helpfulness, it is something that was impossible to find at Parse.

Hi Cooper,

I would start with Backendless code generation. Login to console, select your app and click on the Code Generation icon. In there you can select between iOS and Android. Make sure to select the “Sample chat” checkbox under Messaging and then click the Download Project button. That will give you a fully functional project with all the source code for chat functionality. That would be a good place to start. However, if you are not familiar with backendless, I’d start with the getting started guides:

Android:

iOS:
