3.x authentication fails

Our 3.x app appears to no longer be available to us, logging in is denied.

Appliction Info:
Backendless.initApp(‘AB797EB8-18BF-C13D-FF1B-86001DC11000’, ‘=======================’, ‘v1’);

Thank you!

What email address do you use to login to console? The one I see in the app’s dev team is:

backendless@c********cars.com

That’s it.

Have you received the email to reset the password?
Have you tried resetting the password?

Yes. I went through the password reset process to no avail. I am still able to login to the main http://backendless.com/ page, but then receive a login challenge at http://backendless.com/3.x/ that the same authentication information does NOT work for.

There will be another email to reset the password now. Please disregard it. I will reset your password and will try to login as you. I will let you know the outcome.

I was able to reproduce the behavior you described. We’re looking into it.

Hi Chris,

The root cause of the problem is the hashing algorithm between 3.x and 6.0 is different. Both systems use the same storage for developer authentication. This means that once a password is updated through password reset, it is hashed with the 6.0 algorithm. The solution to this problem is logging in through develop.backendless.com and then switching to your 3.x app. However, this solution is blocked by the fact that 3.x apps are not shown when you login. We’re going to make this change and update the product so you can login and access your app.

I apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you. This issue is at the top of our list and we will make this change as fast as we can.

Regards,
Mark

Hello @Chris_Spargo

We’ve just updated cloud servers with a fix for the issue you described above. Could you kindly let us know whether fix works for you well?

This issue still persists with 3.x apps.

Going through develop.backendless.com and choosing the 3.x sends us to a new login form that does not work.

It does not help to restore the password either, and it does not help to choose Login with Google, as it gives the following error:
