Appending to file data

Is it possible in the future to add an API to allow appending of file data to an existing file?

Thanks for the reply. I fully understand the time allocation but I think it may be beneficial to have the support for that sometime in the future if possible. The current API functionality does provide this but not in a direct streamlined method.
