I installed Collapsible Panel v 1.0.1 today
I created a block ( left to right direction ) and added a selector and a Collapsible Panel block
when I open the panel it displaces the selector component
is this expected behavior ?

I presume that this issue might be occurring due to a specific rule set in the parent block, such as center alignment for all child blocks, for instance.
Would you be so kind as to provide more details about the settings for the parent block? If possible, including a screenshot of the settings would be quite helpful.

You were correct, I changed a couple of those setting and now the select does not get displaced when the collapsible panel is opened. ( unfortunately I changed a couple of things at the same time and did not properly document what I did )
now however when I open the collapsible panel, everything under it gets pushed down. I was hoping the drop down would display over existing content.
notice how the logs area is pushed down the page when the panel is opened.
I’m going to guess this is expected behavior correct?

It’s quite challenging to pinpoint the exact reason for this issue as there can be various factors depending on the changes you’ve made.
However, I would recommend setting a fixed height for the container that houses this block.
