Custom domain name change mid plan

Hi,
I might be changing the custom domain name mid-way through the annual Cloud 99 plan which is going to renew on March 3rd.
Is it possible to change the custom domain on a live plan?
How would this affect the security certificate?

Yes, it is possible to change custom domain in the middle of billing period.

How would this affect the security certificate?

Previous certificate will become invalid since SSL certificates are generated for specific domain names.
I would suggest you to follow the next flow to change your custom domain:

  1. Add new custom domain to your application. Cloud 99 supports unlimited amount of custom domains so there should be no problems with it.
  2. Wait for SSL certificate be issued. Certificate issued manually by our DevOps team and it can take up to one working day to generate one. You will receive notification via email when certificate will be issued.
  3. Verify that new custom domain work properly with HTTPS.
  4. Update your clients code to use new custom domain.
  5. Remove old custom domain.
