Getting unique objects in a list

Hi, how can I show unique items in a list. I have a venues column in my Sessions table. Some of these sessions have the same venue. I want to add a list of venues in a select field so I can filter sessions by venue. See my logic here below.

I end up with duplicate options in my select field as a result.

Please advise.
