How to take 'crm' app menu and apply to layouts

Hi,
Love the ‘layouts’ concept and I have requirement to control what a user see’s on login. Is there a simply way of building a layouts page from the code behind the CRM app on marketplace (I’m keen to keep several of the pages of the CRM app)? Or is it going to be a manual block by block build?
