Is it possible that you have changed the urls to the files? Some days ago they started with https://eu-api.backendless.com and the start with https://eu.backendlessappcontent.com

The eu-api.backendless.com is the hostname for the API calls. The eu.backendlessappcontents.com hostname is used only to download static files from the Backendless file storage.
When you saw URLs starting with eu-api.backendless.com, were these URLs generated by console? It is possible that there was a brief period of time when we just launched the EU cluster that the console was not fully updated resulting in the experience you’re describing.
