Should the Console sidebar be the same as in the mission videos?

At first I thought the videos were just a little out of date because the sidebar was a little different. Then I started seeing that there are a lot of missing items that can only be found via Quick Access. From there, I noticed that the sidebar is completely based on favorites.

Is this intentional? The sidebar in the mission videos is much more intuitive, and it has sub-sections, which I like. Is there a way to make it more like the videos?

Hello @Adam_Cook

You’re right, the video is a bit dated, but that’s just in regards to navigation. You can add the menu items you want (such as those present in missions) using favorites, or just use Quick Access.

Is there any way to make my sidebar more like it is in the videos? I like how they are categorized in the videos. Using favorites just adds a bunch of top level items to my sidebar which makes it feel chaotic.

Yes, there’s is. Click the Quick Access button and select the items you want in the side bar by clicking the *star" icon for the ones you want in the side bar. It doesn’t get simpler than that…

When I do that, I can’t star a category. For instance, “Frontend Development”. I can only star items within that.

I can appreciate flexibility, but this seems like it complicates the UI for no benefit.

Hello Adam,

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to add an entire category as a menu item at the moment.

That said, you can reorder the items in the sidebar by using drag & drop within the Favorites list — that might help bring a bit more structure and make things feel more organized.
