UI Builder not showing styles

Hello, I wonder if anyone can shed some light. I have been testing Backendless CE to see if it can handle the staging and then deploy to Cloud for production.

But I noticed that in UI Builder, the styles are not loaded. As an explicit example, I specified a custom style and it’s not showing. The same is true for the theme styles generally.

While on my production site hosted on the cloud, this shows up just fine:

This is true for all apps I create in my self hosted version of Backendless. Any ideas what settings am I missing here?

A parallel issue I faced, which may or may not be related is that under File Service, I cannot download any files. When I attempt to, I get “You are not authorized.” While uploading works just fine.

Any pointers will be most appreciated!

Hello, @Bob_Leung.

I noticed that you currently do not have a support package subscription. Unfortunately, we cannot proceed with resolving this issue without an active support subscription, as Backendless Pro does not include free support.

If you’re using our Cloud version, feel free to reach out for assistance. Alternatively, you might consider subscribing to a Backendless Pro Support package for dedicated support.

Regards, Nikita.

Understood. If there a cost effective path I can pay for some support to help me with the staging setup? Since it’s a test currently to see if this is a viable option, I’d like to keep the cost to minimum.

Yes I do use the Cloud version for several apps.

Hi Bob,

Currently there is only one support plan we offer for Community Edition of Backendless Pro.

The question you asked is outside of the “staging setup” and would need to be resolved through the paid support if you decide to go that route.

Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark, understood. Is the community edition support plan the $7200 annual one? Or is there another one or one that is per month where I can test? It is just quite a rather large commitment at this testing stage. But perfectly understand if not.

Many thanks in advanced.

Bob

It took some time but I figured it out and the cause is not setting up my domains and SSL certs correctly. It actually because my hosting setup is slightly different (I am testing on an independent servers), however, when I rewatched Mark’s excellent tutorials on youtube in how to install Backendless Pro, I realised he did go through these steps and simply by replicating the steps in my own setup, it worked flawlessly. I also learnt a lot in the process… but also the appreciation of why it’s sensible to stick to BL Cloud for mission critical projects

Meanwhile, kudos to the Backendless team and it’s allowed me to do staging development and non-mission critical projects. Thank you!
