Why are the number of geo locations restricted? And why should every account keep his own location data?
And why pay extra per 100,000 new locations?
Why not globally add the geonames data for everyone for free?

Hi Tobias,
We would be happy to make it for free for everyone if you agree to pay our bill for hosting and storage. How does it sound? ))
Cheers,
Mark
Your bills for hosting and storage are less. I do not know how many customers you have. But storing e.g. 50,000 times 100,000 geo locoations is 5,000,000,000 locations. If you stored the globally, it would only be 100,000…
To cover all towns worldwide is only a couple of million entries. If you loose customers because the the pricing model, you have also not won anything. It is better to have 100,000 customers more then just 1,000 paying you 10 USD a month extra.
Otherwise backendless.com is quite good. If you get VC you dont need to make money, you just need to have growth and reach a major part of the market. Making money is secondary (ask Twitter)
Many of the apps built with Backendless, store geopoints with metadata (which makes the feature significantly more valuable). As a result, storing them globally is not an option.
I just mean almost every app need geo information similiar go geonames…custom metadata could just reference the geonameid for example, without multiplying the data storage
